tomatoes, sliced

June 30
July 2
July 3
July 5 (from the top: Brandywine, Evergreen, and Money Maker)

We had tomatoes on July 1 and July 4 as well, of course, but how many tomatoes on plates do you really want to see?

  1. Oh wow. And what variety! Do you sauce them? What do the neighbours think of some of your more unusual varieties? my beetroot is the talk of the town!

I gave my 1.8m tall and covered in (green) tomatoes tomato plants a big talk today about how well their Gifu neighbours are performing. Expecting amazing results tomorrow!

  2. I need to start saucing them, they are really piling up. Especially the black plum which are kind of mealy, but would make good sauce. But I have no where to store the sauce. I have 3 boxes of tomatoes in the kitchen awaiting processing.

The neighbors can't see, so I don't know what they think. And my students' parents haven't been able to see them because it has been raining raining raining and everyone just rushes home.

I hope that the peer pressure works on your tomatoes, but be careful what you wish for!
