one potato, two potato...

...three potato, four. Five potato, six potato, please please no more!!!

I just dug up less than a tenth of the potatoes. About 12 times this still in the field. I love potatoes, but really?!?!
M hates potatoes and L is allergic, so I guess my husband and I will be eating a lot of potatoes. And he is already talking about planting more for the fall! I think I am going to start talking about who is going to be cooking all these potatoes.

This is a funny story to me. I love potatoes too and we have them fried, mashed, boiled and roasted. In the Army, privates had a lot of peeling to do in the kitchens when I was in Japan (1953-1956)

It really was a different world then and I try to bring some of it back to life in my blog about Japan > My Travels in Japan

My husband planted potatoes today, only 2 bags this time, as opposed to the 3 last year. I think it's still going to be way too many!

Hi,

I don't see a way to email you on your blog. You probably don't read the comments any longer, but I'm hoping you are safe if you're still in Japan. This is such a horrible thing to happen to Japan, terrible. The whole world is stunned.

Hi Jeff,
I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. I more or less had to hang up my spade while pregnant and couldn't bear to post photos of my neglected garden going to rack and ruin. Now my hands are full of new baby (well only one hand at the moment).

We in a part of Japan that was and is totally fine. The disaster is heartbreaking. Thank you for thinking of us.
